Cypress Bay Lightning Varsity Claims Lead In Sixth Inning To Defeat Mustang Baseball

Cypress Bay Lightning Varsity took the lead late and defeated Mustang Baseball 6-5 on Friday. The game was tied at four with Cypress Bay Lightning Varsity batting in the top of the sixth when Joaquin Monque singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs. Cypress Bay Lightning Varsity built a four-run lead in the fourth inning and then held off Mustang Baseball's charge. Mustang Baseball scored four runs in the failed comeback on a in the fifth, a single by PlayerE in the fifth, and a error in the sixth. Cypress Bay Lightning Varsity got things started in the first inning. In the bottom of the fifth inning, Mustang Baseball tied things up at four.  PlayerE drove in one when he singled. After Cypress Bay Lightning Varsity scored one run in the top of the fourth, Mustang Baseball answered with one of their own.  Cypress Bay Lightning Varsityscored when Xavier Medina singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run. Ian Girard pitched Cypress Bay Lightning Varsity to victory. He lasted one and two-thirds innings, allowing three hits and one run while striking out one and walking zero.  Rohan Lingham threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen. Andrew Blardonis started the game for Cypress Bay Lightning Varsity. He surrendered zero runs on two hits over three innings, striking out one and walking one Medina led Cypress Bay Lightning Varsity with two hits in two at bats.

Mustang Baseball racked up eight hits.  PlayerE and PlayerA each racked up multiple hits for Mustang Baseball.  PlayerE went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Mustang Baseball in hits.
